One third of the way into the Leadership for Sustainability program for Western Sydney and we are all thick and deep into the ideating, designing and evaluating phase of the program.
Having grown our awareness of who we are as a leader, this phase is a challenging one as it requires you to dream big, to follow your passion even if it feels impossible, yet also be strategic with your time available, to think about problems at a systemic level and to assess your circle of influence to ensure that the idea you chose will sync with all of these criteria.
It is exciting and daunting all at the same time. Visionary and flying high while at the same time sticky and stuck in the mud of it all. It is a very real taste of the challenge of leadership in taking big ideas, mixing all the ingredients together through a design process, putting them through an evaluation sieve and then getting ready to put them in that action oven to bake.
The few mixes that have emerged are around the theme of waste avoidance and sustainable food, social sustainability and renewable energy.
As we move from Evaluation to Action this week I am excited to see what cake mixes are about to go into the oven.
