I went through the Melbourne Fellowship in 2014 and got a tremendous amount from the experience. I joined hoping for a bit of time and space to contemplate sustainability, but I think I got the most value in reflecting on the part I could play.
Our agency, known as "Thick" are really happy to support the 2016 CSL Alumni Access Scholarship because we know it's valuable, and therefore it's important to ensure it's accessible. As a member of the alumni, it just feels like a nice way for us all to give a little bit back and help CSL continue to create change.
I co-founded Thick a few years ago with Adam Morris - the idea was to build an agency with a focus on delivering social and environmental value through our work. Most of what we do is 'strategic design', helping groups of people tackle problems, but also helping them deliver solutions through their services and technology platforms.
As an agency, we are lucky to work with all sorts of private organisations and parts of government. You soon grow an appreciation for the role of 'great leadership', you can see the widespread effect a single person can have on many.
We really do believe in CSL's "making the leaders of tomorrow" approach.
