Participant Fees, Refunds and Cancellation Policy

The aim of this policy is to inform participants of CSL run courses of the conditions for the payment of fees and/or approval of refunds.


FEES

Fees are outlined in the course details specific to that course.

Confirmation of enrolment is based on a completed enrolment form or registration form and payment of:

  • Full course fees (open access courses)
  • Deposit of 30% of course fees (selection based programs) due within seven (7) days from date of invoice.
  • Full payment of required fees within six (6) weeks from date of invoice.
  • Preferred Payment is to take place by direct bank transfer. Alternate forms of payment may be arranged on a case-by-case basis. Funds are not considered received by CSL until cleared into CSL’s bank account.
  • Fees, administrative charges or other charges applicable must be paid by the specified due dates (on the tax invoice) and paid in Australian dollars.
  • Any bank, foreign exchange and transaction fees will be payable by the participant.


LATE FEES:

  • A late fee equivalent to 10% of the payment amount due will apply for payments made after the specified date as per the invoice.


LIABILITY:

If a participant fails to pay any or all fees and charges by the due date the participant is deemed to be a Centre for Sustainability Leadership debtor. Failure to pay the debt within the specified time frame may result in any or all of the following, until the full amount is paid:

a) suspension of the participant from attending or participating in the course

b) loss of access to the Centre for Sustainability Leadership’s program resources

c) inability to graduate

d) termination of the enrolment

At any time where payment has not been received, the Centre for Sustainability Leadership reserves the right to recover any monies outstanding.

CONCESSION:

An evidenced based concession fee may apply to health care card holders and/or those able to demonstrate they are experiencing financial hardship.


EXCLUSIONS:

Exclusions apply – refer to core course information for specific details.


SCHOLARSHIPS:

A limited number of part scholarship opportunities may be available, allocated based on financial need.

Employer, scholarship or privately sponsored places will incur the full course fee. In some cases sponsors will require participants to cover up to 30% of the fee via a personal contribution. This will be administered at the discretion of the employer or sponsor and is not the responsibility of CSL.

Scholarships provided through CSL are not eligible for transfer.


REFUNDS

  • Transfers or cancellations will be accepted without charge if the Centre for Sustainability Leadership has been notified in writing at least 30 days prior to the course start date.
  • Cancellation by a participant less than 30 days prior to course commencement will receive a refund of fees less the 30% deposit.
  • Any student who cancels after course commencement will not be entitled to any refund.
  • No refunds will be given to individuals on the basis of their failure to attend any CSL course.
  • CSL reserves the right to cancel or postpone any course. In this case a refund or transfer into another course will be offered, at the discretion of CSL.
  • Any refund granted will be paid within 4 weeks of the date of the refund decision.
  •  Any bank, foreign exchange and transaction fees will be payable by the participant.


WITHDRAWAL DUE TO ILLNESS OR HARDSHIP:

If a participant withdraws from a course or program due to illness or extreme hardship CSL may, at its discretion, refund some or all of the fees paid.

CSL recognises that there are circumstances when a full or partial refund of these fees is appropriate. Where the participant demonstrates, through supporting documentation, that extenuating circumstances exist for the cancellation of enrolment, the Board may vary the amount withheld as the cancellation charge.

This will be done in the following circumstances:

  1. Satisfactory evidence of the circumstances of his/her withdrawal, such as medical certificates, must be provided.
  2.  The person will forfeit the 30% non-refundable deposit
  3. Withdrawal must take place prior to the expiration of the course.
