We all must step forward to create the changes we want in the world
What was the most valuable thing you got out of CSL?
Confidence in my ability to make a positive and effective contribution to creating a more sustainable society.
Why are you passionate about sustainability? What was the moment or event that made you decide to become a 'change maker' in your field?
I have a lifelong passion for sustainability choosing to study environmental engineering to ensure I could positively contribute to creating a more sustainable future. While I am normally more reserved, I have come to realise that we all must step forward to create the changes we want in the world and we can't just wait and hope that others will make it happen. My passion comes from a love of nature and our environment and a desire to reduce our impact on the world.
Why is leadership for sustainability important?
We need leaders to show others the way to a more sustainable society and direct change. Sustainability needs to become a much greater focus and this can be achieved through effective leadership.
What do you plan to do next on your sustainability journey?
I plan on further developing my experience in the waste management sector so that I can be in a position to effectively implement more sustainable practices. I will also seek to expand my connections with other people also interested in this field and sustainability in general. I am open to seeing what the new year brings and where my sustainability journey takes me.
