Sustainability requires us to harness the creative power within each of us.
What was the most valuable thing you got out of CSL?
I got to realign with what I most value and redirect my path.
Why are you passionate about sustainability? What was the moment or event that made you decide to become a 'change maker' in your field?
I'm passionate about sustainability because I think it presents an enormous opportunity to rethink how we relate to each other and the environment. I strongly believe that this shift requires new ways of thinking, working and being. As a designer, I see vast potential for alternative futures that are innovative, poetic, meaningful and beautiful. Sustainability requires us to harness the creative power within each of us, so that we can think creatively and holistically about how the future could be.
Why is leadership for sustainability important?
Leadership for sustainability is important because without it we won't be able to see the forest through the trees. :)
What do you plan to do next on your sustainability journey?
I will undertake a research PhD at RMIT in the intersecting areas of design and sustainability. Alongside this I will teach design at Monash University and hope to inspire other young designers to question the status quo and listen to what they truly value.
