We have the energy, enthusiasm and intellect to make things better

What was the most valuable thing you got out of CSL?

Shifting my focus within global health to sustainability issues - having the confidence to take the plunge.

Why are you passionate about sustainability? What was the moment or event that made you decide to become a 'change maker' in your field?

We have the energy, enthusiasm and intellect to make things better, both in terms of environmental sustainability and human well-being. Recognising this was the catalyst for me to make this into my daily work.

Why is leadership for sustainability important?

We are great followers - we need to be following those who are inspirational, lead worthwhile change and can make things happen.

What do you plan to do next on your sustainability journey?

My current work is focused on assisting developing countries around the world to better incorporate health within climate change policies and strategies, as well as encouraging the health sector to better understand and reduce the risks to health from a changing climate. This is my current journey and I've been on it since I started CSL in 2008. It has taken me all around the world, learning much from our neighbours near and far. Most of this work is via the World Health Organization, and other UN agencies.
