What was the most valuable thing you got out of CSL?
CSL is full of wonderful people and inspiring stories. I was so energised and encouraged by all the people who participated or presented to us during my CSL course.
Why are you passionate about sustainability? What was the moment or event that made you decide to become a 'change maker' in your field?
My sustainability passion started with a love of nature and animals. I think it might have come from all the David Attenborough documentaries my mum made us watch as kids. At age 11 I was a vegetarian and campaigner for animal rights. At 18 I was a member of multiple grassroots organisations campaigning for change. For as long as I can remember I have been interested in finding a ‘better or fairer way’.
Why is leadership for sustainability is important?
We have to take action for all the creatures on the earth that can’t.
What do you plan to do next on your sustainability journey?
I am about to take an in-house sustainability role at Oxfam where I will work on environmental improvements across the organisation and sustainability reports. I also hope to be part of a new community solar project in Moreland and help spread the word about opportunities for mid-sized renewable projects in our communities.
