I can remain resilient on this adventure
What was the most valuable thing you got out of the program?
I made authentic connections with like minded people who empowered me to believe in myself
Why are you passionate about sustainability? What was the moment or event that made you decide to become a ‘change maker’ in your field?
I love learning about the amazing world around us, and I think the concept of sustainability really embodies that in every way. 'Sustainability' to me is how everything is connected to each other and how we must consider all perspectives and stakeholders in order to make the best decision for our collective future. I don't think there was a moment or event that make me decide to become a 'change maker'. I think it has just always been part of my character. I have always held the value of integrity in high-esteem, and I think that having great integrity goes hand in hand with being a 'change maker'. To me it's not the 'right' thing to do, rather it's just THE thing to do.
How did the program play a role in directing your current path or project?
The Future Makers Fellowship gave me the tools to support me in figuring out the right career path to follow, and how I can remain resilient on this adventure.
In 25 words or less, tell us why leadership for sustainability is important.
Without guidance and strong leadership in sustainability, the amazing people and innovative ideas in the world will not reach its audience and create positive change.
What do you plan to do next on your sustainability journey?
I am now looking towards science and sustainability in education. How can I use my skills and knowledge to empower others to make positive changes in their environment.
What are three words you would use to describe the Program?
Supportive, empowering, reflective.
