People are intensely social animals. If you want to change the world, you've got to be able to influence your fellow homo sapiens.
What was the most valuable thing you got out of CSL?
I stared at my purpose, it stared back at me. We smiled, high fived and hit the ground.
Why are you passionate about sustainability?
I am passionate about the environment because I can't not be. My upbringing in rural Victoria gave me a close connection to nature, and I felt a keen sense of injustice when I started to learn about environmental issues at school. My Grandma claims it all started when I came home from an environmentally-themed camp when I was 11 - but I think the seeds of it were planted even earlier.
How did CSL play a role in directing your current path or project?
CSL gave me a way to slow down and reflect on where I am at and where I am going in a deep and personal way. I reached qualitatively different insights about my path in life, thanks to the insights of a like minded and passionate group of fellow-fellows. CSL has clarified my vision for the future and the path I'll take to get there —it's also helped me make some decisions I was not expecting.
Why is sustainability leadership important?
People are intensely social animals. If you want to change the world, you've got to be able to influence your fellow homo sapiens.
What do you plan to do next on your sustainability journey?
I'll keep working in service of solving complex problems. Keep learning, keep growing. Leap confidently into the unknown.
