I will raise my voice and support others raising theirs!

What was the most valuable thing you got out of the program?

I connected with dedicated and passionate people who are making the world a better place!

Why are you passionate about sustainability? What was the moment or event that made you decide to become a ‘change maker’ in your field?

I grew up during momentous events: the end of the Cold War, fall of the Berlin Wall and freedom for Nelson Mandela. These events showed that systems can change when we stand up for what we believe in. During the last 25 years, economic growth has ended or reduced poverty for billions of people. But we are seeing the impacts on our planet – our home – and those around us. We have to stand up for sustainable development, a model that also protects and nurtures our people and planet.

How did the program play a role in directing your current path or project?

Our CSL group project combined social, environmental and economic sustainability. Since CSL I’ve stood up for two issues that are core to sustainable development: for gender equality as a White Ribbon Ambassador and for indigenous empowerment through the Jawun program.

In 25 words or less, tell us why leadership for sustainability is important.

There’s a huge difference between management and leadership – too many confuse them. Leaders for sustainability are connected to people and planet and live their values.

What do you plan to do next on your sustainability journey?

We can all speak up more often on the issues we’re passionate about to question the ways things are done and influence decisions on how they can be done better. I will raise my voice and support others raising theirs!

What are three words you would use to describe the Program?
