We need a different vision for our future
What was the most valuable thing you got out of CSL?
I got an understanding of the many different types of leaders for sustainability that we need.
Why are you passionate about sustainability? What was the moment or event that made you decide to become a 'change maker' in your field?
There was no single event that served as a sustainability epiphany for me, rather it was a process over many years. My passion for sustainability came from asking myself what skills I have to contribute and how these could benefit others. I love balancing the complex interaction of social, economic and environmental issues that we need to address in our field.
Why is leadership for sustainability important?
Leadership for sustainability is important because we have many leaders that are taking down unsustainable paths and we need a different vision for our future!
What do you plan to do next on your sustainability journey?
The first step of my sustainability journey is focused on personal sustainability. 2014 has been a busy year! Following a short break I hope to return to our CSL project to use it as a tool to learn and develop my leadership skills. And after that we shall see! I am a big believer in working towards your goals but knowing that you can't anticipate future opportunities and you have to be flexible to take advantage of them.
