A population connected with the natural world will lead to increased empathy and sensitivity to the environment and greater awareness of sustainability issues.

Animalia in Nature is a Sydney based not for profit that inspires greater connection with nature in the urban jungle. Our family friendly experiences are set in scenic locations and screen thrilling documentaries that will immerse guests into the natural world. It is a multi-sensory experience, enhanced with roving flora and fauna characters and motivational behaviour change giveaways. Each event is themed around a habitat, for example ‘Animalia in the Forests’. Our guests are invited to participate by dressing as their favourite in theme animal and are encouraged to exhibit behaviours of their creature.

As time is a precious resource and lacking amongst Sydney’s working population, we believe that film is a great way to capture the attention, amusement and engagement of families. With careful selection of inspiring film, guest speakers and the serenity of the location, our events aim to provide a fun yet educational experience.

Our name Animalia is the scientific name for animals including humans. But we have come to distance ourselves from our nearest relatives. While animals have existed for around 560 million years, we modern humans have been around for a blink of just 200,000 years. We want to celebrate our animal kingdom and break through the barriers of separation so we can appreciate the creatures around us.

Animalia in Nature believes our footprint on the planet can be small. By creating events aimed for a maximum of 150 participants and practicing a ‘leave no trace’ philosophy we will have minimum impact on the land which we convene. Guests are encouraged to bring their own picnic including food, beverages and seating and to also take away their waste for recycling. We are also inviting patrons to take accountability for their carbon participation and make a small offset donation.

There is a strong positive effect from immersing ourselves within the natural world which is supported by much research. A population connected with the natural world will lead to increased empathy and sensitivity to the environment and greater awareness of sustainability issues.

You are invited to join us in creating a new Animalia conscious community by attending our events where we make time to celebrate the value of all living creatures and our connection to the animal kingdom. With an abundance of wonderful locations at Sydney’s doorstep we hope to provide fun, animated and ongoing events at little or no cost.
